Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder, was born on Winona Minnesota. The name she was given by her parents in honor of the town in which she was born. Their father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father was born into an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. The actress has a younger brother Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal and Sunyata. At the age of seven, Ryder was just seven years old, her family moved to Mendocino County California. In the area, there was no electricity. No televisions would be the sole way for her time, and she started to become a keen reader. Ryder began taking acting lessons in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of 13 years old. In 1986 she landed her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas aged just fifteen years old. Ryder was a victim of bullying in high school. Ryder was hopeful that her work acting as a professional would help. But, unfortunately, that didn't happen. Still she continued pursuing her dream. In 1988 she had her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to perform successful parts in several films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
